There are more interpretations of Web 2.0 than we can shake a stick at. Most people seem to agree 2.0 moved on from the 1.0 sales sites e.g. Amazon, to user managed content and social networking. Now we have people talking about 3.0, the “semantic web”. The concept of “semantic web” is exciting, but we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves. Ultimately, all these developments only get to be meaningful if they add value.
Business 2.0 posts are about ways ordinary guys, working hard at making a living, can use the Internet to find more opportunities and simultaneously reduce the cost of harvesting them. Let’s forget, for the moment, what the visionaries are saying and focus on how we can leverage, to our own advantage, what’s happening now.
